First Aid at Work

Maximum 12 Delegates

The Four-day course is designed to enable candidates on successful completion to give effective Emergency Aid to a casualty at the workplace. On successful completion of the course after independent mediation, candidates will receive a nationally recognised approved First Aid at Work certificate, which is valid for three years. (There may be a change to these regulations in 2006)

The course content includes:

• Introduction
• Principals of First Aid
• Forming a diagnosis
• The Unconscious Casualty – Causes and management
• Choking Casualty
• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Recognition of Fractures & Treatment
• Management of Bleeding & Burns
• Medical Emergencies
• Head Injuries
• Poisons
• Reporting of accidents

This course meets the statutory requirements of the Health & Safety Executive (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
