Enquire about this courseCONTROL AND RESTRAINT TRAINING

Why do I need Control and Restraint Training?
You will benefit enormously from this training if you or your staff operate in an environment where you may encounter violence or need to use physical force to deter, detain, arrest or eject people.
The course sets out techniques involving the use of force for self-protection.

Criminal Law Act 1967 - "A person may use such force as is reasonable in the circumstances
in the prevention of a crime, or in the effecting or assisting in the lawful arrest of offenders or
suspected offenders lawfully at large"

Our training enables individuals to assess what is reasonable force and when it is necessary.

How much will it cost to get trained?
A one-day course will cost in the region of £75.00 including VAT and will also include a certificate issued by a home office-approved trainer.

Why train with Pathfinder?
Our trainer for this course has been the control and restraint trainer for a government agency for 15 years and his techniques, although relatively simple to implement, are extremely effective. He is also a police expert witness and therefore his knowledge of lawful techniques is unsurpassed.

What does the training involve?
You will be trained in:

• The law and the implementing of restraint techniques
• Restraint and arrest - the medical overview
• How to break away from an assailant
• Working as a team
• Restraint techniques (pain and non-pain compliant)
• Handcuffing (where appropriate)
• Arrest (where appropriate)
